Also known as Himalayan Meadow Primrose. An early-blooming species, it grows best at the waterside or a similar position with rich and heavy moist to wet soil. Loose clusters of bright magenta-pink blooms are held on stems above the expanding leaves. Most effective in groups, combining well with other moisture lovers with its striking flowers. Will tolerate more sun in cool regions. A wonderful candidate for a special bog garden.
