Nothing Says spring like a Primrose.

Absolutely! Primroses (Primula) are like nature's cheerful welcome sign for spring. With their delicate petals and vibrant hues—soft yellows, pinks, purples, and whites—they’re among the first to bloom, often pushing through lingering frost to signal warmer days. These hardy little flowers have long symbolized renewal, hope, and the fleeting beauty of the season.

In folklore, primroses were believed to ward off melancholy and were sacred to Celtic traditions, associated with protection and young love. Their name even comes from the Latin prima rosa, "first rose," though they’re not related to roses at all. Whether tucked into woodland gardens or brightening window boxes, they’re a reminder that even after the coldest winters, life returns in colour.

Do you have a favourite spring bloom, or do you grow primroses yourself?
